Will Benjamin Netanyahu annex the West Bank?

Israeli PM is under pressure from far-right coalition partners to formally seize parts of occupied Palestinian territory

Benjamin Netanyahu’s far-right coalition partners have been pushing to annex the occupied West Bank since his return to power in 2022.

Now, Israel’s prime minister is under pressure to finally show his hand.

In the coming days, the UK, France, Canada, Australia and others are due to recognise a Palestinian state. Netanyahu’s allies are demanding he respond by annexing at least some of the occupied territory that Palestinians seek as the heart of the possible future state.
