Iran is trying to resume passenger flights including from airports heavily damaged in US-Israeli strikes, as it seeks to restore transport links after nearly two months of wartime airspace closures.
International travel resumed from Mashhad airport in the north-east of the country this week. The first flights from the country’s main Imam Khomeini International Airport and Mehrabad Airport in Tehran are scheduled to go on Saturday.
Authorities indicated on Monday that 10 airports would restart flights on Saturday, but on Wednesday the Civil Aviation Organisation said that six airports would reopen, without specifying which ones.
