The number of overseas students enrolling for MBA courses at British universities has fallen by a fifth since 2010, as tough ministerial rhetoric on immigration was put into action and changes to the student visa regime have started to bite.
In some cases, the fall in recruitment has been dramatic: Bradford University School of Management has seen the number of foreign students on its MBA degree courses tumble from 103 in 2010 to just 20 in 2012.
The data have been compiled from 18 MBA providers, who supplied information for the FT’s forthcoming business education league tables. The size of the foreign student body taking the courses is smaller than it has been for eight years.
