Australia has said it has found two objects – the largest at least 24m in size – in the Indian Ocean as it continued to hunt the missing Malaysian aeroplane MH370.
Tony Abbott, Australia’s prime minister, told parliament on Thursday that “new and credible information” had come to light that could relate to the hunt for the missing flight which disappeared 12 days ago en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board.
“The Australian Maritime Safety Authority has received information based on satellite imagery of objects possibly related to the search. Following specialist analysis of this satellite imagery, two possible objects related to the search have been identified,” said Mr Abbott.
