The world's biggest automaker announced five separate recalls involving 27 Toyota models, the Pontiac Vibe and the Subaru Trezia after identifying faults in the steering column, wiring harnesses, seat rails, windshield wiper motor and engine starters.
The recalls affects 6.76m vehicles. Some models have multiple issues, so Toyota will be recalling 6.39m vehicles in total, according to a company spokesman.
Toyota says it is "not aware of any accidents, injuries or fatalities caused by these conditions."
