Rescue workers have recovered a second flight recorder belonging to the Malaysian airliner which was shot down over eastern Ukraine on Thursday as President Petro Poroshenko blamed the deaths of nearly 300 passengers squarely on pro-Russia separatists.
The US said Flight MH17, a Boeing 777 flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, had been shot down in a missile attack as it flew over eastern Ukraine on Thursday. US authorities have not been able to conclude where the missile was fired from and have not directly accused anyone of shooting down the jet.
But Mr Poroshenko said on Friday morning in an address to the Ukrainian nation that the pro-Russia separatists who have taken control of parts of eastern Ukraine were to blame.
