Australia’s failure to donate money to a UN fund helping poor countries deal with global warming is a problem that could hinder this week’s UN climate meeting, China’s lead negotiator at the talks has warned.
“It’s not good news,” said Su Wei, adding he believed all developed countries had a legal obligation to contribute to the UN’s Green Climate Fund.
“It also has very important impacts in the negotiating process. It’s a trust-building process,” he said.
