Widening graft probe snares China Southern CFO

China’s largest airline has lost its chief financial officer as part of a widening investigation that has claimed four top executives over the past week.

In announcements to the Hong Kong and Shanghai stock exchanges on Monday night, Guangzhou-based China Southern Airlines said Xu Jiebo had resigned after being suspected of a “job-related crime” – a euphemism for corruption.

The airline, China’s largest by fleet size and passengers carried, also confirmed the resignation of Zhou Yuehai, executive vice president, citing the same grounds.
