French spirits producer Rémy Cointreau
saw organic sales fall 5.9 per cent during the first half of its fiscal year, dragged down by continuing weakness in the Chinese market.
The company said that strong performance at its Rémy Martin cognac division in the US was dragged down by China where it was adapting its distribution network and product mix. Remy said performance was also affected by the “caution” of Chinese wholesalers.
