The humble bar of soap is staging a comeback. As it should. We all know we need to get serious about reducing plastic waste; solid bars are usually sold wrapper-free or in recyclable cardboard packets.
Liquid soaps require five times more energy for raw material production and nearly 20 times more energy for packaging production, according to one US study. They are also less efficient to transport than their unpretentious counterparts. And we tend to get through the bottled stuff more quickly.
