Police in Copenhagen have killed a man who opened fire on them after two earlier shootings that left two dead and five injured in a presumed terrorist attack in the Danish capital.
Early on Sunday morning, police could not confirm if the man they shot dead in central Copenhagen was the man wanted in connection with the earlier shootings. But they said he approached an address under surveillance, was told to stop but opened fire and was killed by police.
It follows twin shootings on Saturday and Sunday, first at a free speech event where a controversial Swedish cartoonist who depicted the Prophet Mohammed as a dog was speaking and then at a synagogue.
