Trump golf club ditches goats — but keeps $240,000 farm tax break

Small herd banished from Bedminster club but hay harvesting to continue, according to New Jersey filing

The Trump Organization has banished a small herd of goats from one of its grandest golf clubs, adjusting how the business qualifies for an agricultural tax break in New Jersey worth $240,000 a year.

The abrupt departure of the 12 goats from the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster was noted by its parent entity in a tax filing for 2025, which records there is no longer livestock on the property.

The course is still eligible for the favourable tax treatment, the filings by Lamington Farm Club note, because of hay harvesting and woodland management that continue on the estate.
