Donald Trump announced he would meet Vladimir Putin in Alaska next week, just hours after he said a peace deal in Ukraine might involve “some swapping of territories”.
The US president wrote on his Truth Social platform on Friday that his “highly anticipated meeting” with the Russian leader would take place in Alaska on August 15.
The announcement of the summit came just hours after the US president signalled that ending Russia’s full-scale invasion of its neighbour, now in its fourth year, would involve Kyiv ceding territory.
