Donald Trump has convened a meeting at the White House to discuss what his envoy has described as a “comprehensive plan” for the future of Gaza, even as Israel prepares to launch another invasion of the enclave.
The US president’s special envoy Steve Witkoff said Trump would chair a “large meeting” at the White House on Wednesday amid international outrage over the catastrophic conditions in Gaza, where a UN-backed panel declared a famine last week for the first time.
“It’s a very comprehensive plan we’re putting together on the next day [for Gaza] that I think many people are going to be — they’re going to see how robust it is and how it’s — how well-meaning it is,” Witkoff told Fox News on Tuesday.
