Israel has launched waves of air strikes near Damascus and dropped personnel into Syria, according to Syrian state media, despite talks between the two countries aimed at easing hostilities.
Multiple strikes hit the area of Kiswah, south of Damascus, on Wednesday night, along with an “airborne landing” whose details were “still unknown”, Syrian state media said.
That came after attacks on Tuesday killed at least six Syrian soldiers in the area, according to Syria’s foreign ministry.
