Donald Trump has called on pharmaceutical companies to release more data on the effectiveness of their Covid-19 vaccines as he looks to quell tensions within his administration over immunisation policy.
The president on Monday said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was “being ripped apart” by disagreements over vaccines and demanded that drugmakers disclose figures demonstrating the success of their products.
“They show me GREAT numbers and results, but they don’t seem to be showing them to many others. I want them to show them NOW, to CDC and the public, and clear up this MESS, one way or the other!!!” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.
