Donald Trump has signed into law a bill directing the US Department of Justice to release files related to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein one day after it passed Congress with near unanimous support.
The US president announced the move on social media on Wednesday evening as he sought to tie senior Democrats to Epstein, who was found hanging in a jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal charges for the sex trafficking of minors.
“Perhaps the truth about these Democrats and their associations with Jeffrey Epstein, will soon be revealed, because I HAVE JUST SIGNED THE BILL TO RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social network on Wednesday.
