Binance has named co-founder Yi He as its co-chief executive in a shake-up at the top of the cryptocurrency exchange.
In a statement on Wednesday, Binance said He would run the business alongside Richard Teng, who replaced Changpeng Zhao as head of the group in 2023.
He, who is Zhao’s longtime partner, is at present Binance’s chief customer services officer. The pair founded Binance in 2017 and the company has grown to become the world’s biggest crypto exchange, with more than $18bn worth of spot transactions taking place there daily, according to data company CoinMarketCap.
