FDA Commissioner Marty Makary has appointed Tracy Beth Høeg, a longtime skeptic of Covid-19 vaccines, as acting director of the agency’s drug division, according to an announcement late Wednesday.
Høeg is a close ally of Makary, who helped lead an investigation into alleged deaths among children related to the Covid-19 vaccine. That probe, details of which the FDA hasn’t released publicly, has been a source of ongoing controversy at the agency.
