New York City is welcoming Walmart’s business to its five boroughs, even if it will not allow the retail giant’s physical stores in.

Walmart’s vast Supercenters and neighbourhood markets have been kept out of New York in the face of opposition from labour unions and local activists. Its last push to open a store in the neighbourhood of East New York, Brooklyn fizzled in 2012.
