What has Labour actually achieved?

Keir Starmer has translated his majority into some significant laws but it’s no accident that the public has barely noticed

There are many complaints about Sir Keir Starmer at Westminster. A common one is that he has squandered his huge 165-seat majority in the House of Commons.

Even some ministers say that it is unclear to the public what the first Labour administration in 14 years has achieved.

In fact, when the first parliamentary session ends this week, the prime minister will be able to point to 47 new laws since the general election in July 2024.
