OpenAI will expand its offering to Amazon’s cloud customers, enabling the start-up to distribute its models and applications more widely after renegotiating exclusive terms with Microsoft.
The ChatGPT maker announced on Tuesday that it would bring its most advanced AI models to AWS, through the Amazon cloud unit’s Bedrock AI developer platform. OpenAI’s Codex coding agent will also be made available.
Amazon’s expanded partnership with OpenAI comes after it agreed in February to invest up to $50bn in the start-up and the AI lab on Monday renegotiated the terms of its deal with Microsoft to loosen its exclusivity provisions.
