US to ‘guide’ stranded ships out of Strait of Hormuz, says Trump

President says ‘humanitarian’ effort to begin on Monday as ‘very positive discussions’ continue with Iran

The US will begin to “guide” stranded ships out of the Strait of Hormuz from Monday, President Donald Trump has announced.

He said on Sunday that “Project Freedom” will guide ships from various countries that are stuck in the strategic waterway, which has been blocked by Iran since the first days of the US-Israeli war against the Islamic republic.

“For the good of Iran, the Middle East, and the United States, we have told these Countries that we will guide their Ships safely out of these restricted Waterways, so that they can freely and ably get on with their business,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
