FDA Commissioner Marty Makary is set to resign after his job status hung in the balance for days.
A source familiar with the commissioner’s thinking told Endpoints News that Makary plans to announce his decision later this afternoon, formally ending a months-long saga over his turbulent tenure as head of the FDA. The news was first reported by Politico, which also said the head of the FDA food division, Kyle Diamantas, will serve as acting commissioner.
