Biopharma industry lobby groups working to keep the pipeline open for plentiful, lower-cost drugs coming from China have awakened to the fact that they face a vocal opposition and a growing set of anti-China proposals in Congress.

On Wednesday representatives from the drug lobby group PhRMA met with staff of the Select Committee on China, multiple sources told Endpoints News. Chaired by Rep. John Moolenaar (R-MI), who introduced a bill monitoring outbound investments into China biotech alongside Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI), the committee has been at the center of the hawkish policies that some in industry are trying to combat.
