Another wave of scrutiny has hit WuXi AppTec through its re-inclusion in the Pentagon’s updated list of companies that have ties to the Chinese military.
With its appearance on the list under Section 1260H of the US National Defense Authorization Act, WuXi AppTec is once again linked to the Biosecure Act, a law restricting federal contracts with foreign suppliers. If WuXi AppTec fails in its attempt to get off the list, it risks losing out on contracting with US drugmakers, which makes up the majority of the manufacturer’s overall revenue.
