The chair of India’s largest conglomerate has resigned in the latest stage of a long-running battle over succession at Tata Sons.
N Chandrasekaran’s decision follows reports that he could face a confidence vote at Tata’s annual meeting next week.
He said in a statement on Wednesday he had “decided not to offer myself for reappointment” when his term ends on February 20 next year.
