European equities were mixed on Monday and US stock futures ticked up as traders prepared for a flurry of Big Tech earnings reports, delivered against a backdrop of high inflation and signs of impending monetary policy tightening.
The region-wide Stoxx Europe 600 share index was steady in early dealings, while London’s FTSE 100 index rose 0.3 per cent.
Futures markets meanwhile indicated that the US blue-chip S&P 500 stocks index would flatline in morning trading in New York, while the technology-focused Nasdaq 100 index would rise 0.2 per cent.
