Volvo Cars has named former Dyson boss Jim Rowan as its next chief executive, replacing Hakan Samuelsson, who ran the company for close to a decade.
Rowan worked at Dyson from 2012 to 2020 and was chief executive from 2017, at a time when the consumer appliances group was attempting to enter the auto industry.
In 2017, Dyson announced plans to build electric cars but abandoned the project two years later.
