Turkey and Israel are to appoint respective ambassadors for the first time in four years, as both countries seek to bolster relations with their neighbours across the volatile region.
Ties between the two Mediterranean nations have been strained for more than a decade.
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkey’s president, has long criticised Israel’s treatment of Palestinians. The two countries last expelled each other’s ambassadors in 2018 over the killing of scores of protesters in Gaza by Israeli soldiers on the anniversary of the creation of the Israeli state.
