The news at the moment is full of numbers going in the wrong direction, from rising energy prices and inflation to tumbling stock markets and disposable income.

1. Clean energy is on the rise
The data around climate change is usually at best worrying, at worst apocalyptic. But we are making significant strides forward. Solar energy production increased by 22 per cent in 2021 compared to 2020, and wind power by 17 per cent.
