Elon Musk said Tesla could deliver as many as 2mn cars this year after the electric vehicle maker dramatically cut prices across its portfolio to prioritise expansion of its customer base at the short-term expense of margins.
The company’s chief executive on Wednesday sought to allay investor worries that demand is waning as Tesla faces rising competition from other big carmakers and tougher economic conditions.
