Officials have said that Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan's president, was set to seek more than $500m (€367m, £286m) in soft loans as well as a nuclear energy accord during his first official visit to Beijing. However, Chinese state media reports did not mention any agreement on those issues.
The agreements included a deal under which China will supply and launch a communications satellite for Pakistan by about 2011, Chinese state television said. The two sides also agreed to co-operate on mineral extraction, agriculture and broadcasting.
