In such times of economic turmoil, people may assume that financial companies will tighten their belts and spend less on executive development, however this is not the case.

In fact, during the economic downturn of 1992 to 1994 many increased their spending. They recognised that their sectors would change, which in turn would lead to the need to deploy new business models and more capable staff.

Those who identified these changes and responded aggressively would emerge as winners as growth re-emerged.
