RiskMetrics, the global provider of risk management and corporate governance services, will today open its first office in China, a move that underscores the rising awareness of the discipline in the country.
The New York-listed group, which also provides financial research and analysis, does not have an office in Hong Kong or Taiwan and has to date largely covered Chinese-related business out of Singapore.
RiskMetrics, which acquired Institutional Shareholder Services in 2007, is well known globally for providing proxy advice to investors ahead of shareholder meetings and its guidance can help to influence key votes.
