European regulators have raised doubts about whether the planned global tie-up between British Airways, American Airlines and Iberia can go ahead in its current form.
They warned the airlines could be forced to give up valuable take-off and landing slots, according to documents seen by the Financial Times.
In the papers, Brussels says that the agreement the three airlines signed last year is “likely to result in appreciable competitive harm” on seven Europe/US routes.
