This must be the routine response to the news that the World Economic Forum has set in motion an ambitious initiative to “rethink, redesign, rebuild” the world.
Were not members of the forum at the forefront of the practices that brought down the world economy so spectacularly in the financial crisis? Was the forum not a loud voice for the financial capitalism that is now discredited? Can such an organisation add something useful to the effort at global reform?
