US AND CHINA MUST TAKE THE LEAD IN ‘CLEAN' COAL REVOLUTION

The Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change did not result in a clear plan for addressing global warming but it offered two important lessons: first, given the urgency of the issue, it may be necessary to rely on business-led efforts – rather than wait for an international consensus – to tackle the problem; second, Chinese involvement will be crucial to achieve meaningful solutions.

By partnering Chinese companies, clean energy projects can be executed much faster and at lower cost.

In Copenhagen, participating nations agreed that the threat posed by climate change is real and that immediate actions to reduce warming are critical.
