Asian currencies rose to multi-month highs yesterday amid mounting speculation that China would let the renminbi appreciate.
The speculation grew following a perceived easing in Sino-US relations after Washington backed away from naming China as a currency manipulator.
Tim Geithner, US Treasury secretary, said late on Tuesday that it was “China's choice” whether to revalue the renminbi.
