Montblanc plans to open a 1,500 sq m shop in Beijing in summer next year to give the German fountain pen maker’s image a boost in its biggest global market, its chief executive said, writes Daniel Schäfer in Hamburg.
Lutz Bethge, head of the Hamburg-based pen, watch and leatherwear maker, said that the group aimed for further rapid growth in China.
“This is a strategic growth market for us. When we started with our own shops in 2005, this was not even among our 10 largest markets.
