Pressure was mounting on Rupert Murdoch’s News International last night after Clive Goodman, the disgraced News of the World journalist jailed for phone hacking, alleged in
a letter that the illegal practice was “widely discussed” at the British newspaper’s editorial meetings.
The claims raise questions about the possibility of a corporate cover-up at News International, the British newspaper arm of Mr Murdoch’s global media empire, that is being scrutinised by parliament and investigated by the police.
