Greg Coffey, one of the UK’s biggest hedge fund stars, has resigned from Moore Capital Management, the firm set up by industry pioneer Louis Bacon.
Mr Coffey, 41, plans to take early retirement, according to two people with direct knowledge of the decision. They said he had no plans to continue in asset management and would instead spend more time with his family.
The Australian’s fortune has been estimated at more than $700m and he has properties across the world, including the Ardfin estate on the Hebridean island of Jura and mansions in London and Sydney.
