Arabian adventurers: tourists prepare to sandboard on dunes near Dubai

Tourism leaders in Dubai hope to double the number of tourists to 20m by the end of the decade as it attracts visitors from new markets and cultivates return guests to the seventh most popular travel destination in the world.

Tourist arrivals rose 9.3 per cent to reach 10.6m last year, helping keep overall hotel occupancy at 78 per cent.
