Dissident accuses NYU of bowing to Beijing pressure

Chen Guangcheng, the blind Chinese legal activist who negotiated a new life for himself in the US with a dramatic flight from house arrest last year, has accused New York University of asking him to leave under pressure from Beijing.

“Academic independence and academic freedom in the United States are being greatly threatened by a totalitarian regime.”
