The son of a British fraud investigator detained in Shanghai has called on the head of GlaxoSmithKline, the UK drugs company that used his services, to raise his father’s case while in China for high-level meetings.
Peter Humphrey and his wife, Yu Yingzeng, co-founders of ChinaWhys, a well-known corporate investigation company, were detained in July and charged with illegally acquiring personal information about Chinese citizens.
Five months on, Mr Humphrey and Ms Yu, a US citizen, remain in custody and no trial has yet been announced.
