The first direct scheduled UK flights to China from outside London will start from Manchester airport in December as business ties between the world’s second-largest economy and the north grow.
Cathay Pacific announced today it would launch a four times a week service between Manchester and Hong Kong on December 8, subject to government approval.
Manchester has the UK’s third-biggest airport with almost 21m passengers a year, serving more than 200 destinations.
