LG Household & Healthcare, the South Korean company, has confirmed reports it is examining a purchase of Elizabeth Arden.
The company cautioned that while it was considering a bid for Elizabeth Arden, the US beauty company is one of several domestic and foreign companies it is looking at as potential M&A targets, the FT's Jung-a Song writes from Seoul.
"It is in the early stages and nothing has been decided about whether we actually launch a formal bid or not," a spokesman said.
