Thanks to the nation's property slowdown, business conditions in China's services sector are at their worst for almost nine years, according to a closely watched survey.
HSBC's purchasing managers index for China's services sector - which collates survey responses from managers of businesses such as estate agents, hotels and transport providers - fell to a reading of 50 for July.
A reading above 50 in this index shows an industry is expanding, on the whole.
