The Chinese stock market has reacted with enthusiasm to a Monday proposal from President Xi Jinping for China to build several media groups that are strong and credible.
Xinhua, the state-run paper, said Xi "called on the nation to integrate traditional and new media to diversify its communication system."
He spoke at the fourth meeting of the Leading Group for Overall Reform.
