The services sector in the world's second-largest economy has slowed to its weakest pace since January.
China's state-sponsored non-manufacturing index slipped from 54.0 in September to 53.8 last month. Any level above 50 reflects growth but this is the fifth month that the guage has cooled.
The nine-month low coincides with a slowdown in China's property sector, where prices fell in 69 of the 70 cities surveyed in September.
